Introduction
The Safran Project Data Reporting Utility (DRU) empowers users to leverage the versatile and flexible data aggregation methods embedded in the core code. These methods can be used independently from the Safran Project reports and other standard usage, typically in external data warehouses or dashboard solutions. The Safran Project data can then be combined with information from neighbouring systems, leading to innovative ways of displaying planned values, reporting status, and measuring performance.
The DRU offers an efficient data reporting solution when used with Safran Project. Users can define an unlimited number of jobs in the interface, each configured to calculate planned or actual data for a selected project or a subset within the given duration span and by selected time granulation.
When a job is executed in the DRU, the required data is pulled from the Safran Project database and processed by the same core Safran Project engine used for any other report or calculation. The result is then placed in several general tables based on activity/groups and the period defined in the job.
Time-phased data, which refers to data that is organised and presented according to periods, can be used as is or combined with metadata from the Safran Project database to show planned or actual values by period. Typically, the data will be rolled up to a summary level before being presented by the client's preferred front-end solution. Depending on the functionality, this can also include filter or drill-down capabilities.
